Orange Coffee Smoothy
(Orange Coffee Ice-Cream)

This smoothie is a must try! More than once, I have finished the whole batch all by myself... :-) Don't ask me what I like so much about this smoothie. Maybe it's just its incredible fruitiness. Could it be those mini chocolate bits? Or is it the unexpected coffee twist? I guess, it must be the combination of it all - this smoothie certainly is more than the sum of its parts... The orange segments you will have to prepare a day in advance; the smoothie itself can be whipped up in a mere moments. And it makes a wonderful ice-cream, too (see Tip)!

Ingredients (to serve 2 - or just you...):

1 1/2 cups vanilla frozen yoghurt
1/2 cups orange juice
1/4 cup Kalùha or
1/4 cup espresso (cold) or
1 1/2 tablespoon instant coffee dissolved in 1/4 cup of water (cold)
1 1/2 cups fresh orange segments, frozen
1/4 cup chocolate chips
3 tablespoons frozen orange concentrate
3 to 5 ice cubes (optional)

Tip: This smoothie makes a wonderful ice-cream, too! Simply transfer the finished product (do not add the ice cubes!) to an air-tight container and freeze at least 2 hours. - Isn't it great: now you got two recipes for the price of one! :-)))

Preparation (about 3 minutes):

1. Combine the frozen yoghurt, orange juice, and Kalùha (or substitute) in a blender.

2. Add the orange segments, chocolate chips, and orange concentrate and blend until smooth.

3. With the blender running, add the ice cubes one at a time until they are well incorporated and the desired consistency is reached.

Pour into two chilled smoothy glasses (or just one big one!) and ... enjoy!
