Rum Cow

I vividly remember a terribly cold winter back when I lived in Frankfurt/Germany. Every night, I was getting off the old, rumbling, and only so-so warm streetcar at a stop practically in the middle of nowhere. Off the streetcar and into a thick snow flurry, which I had to fight all the way home. And since home wasn't exactly around the corner, I usually ended up on my doorstep half-frozen, with my nose running and my ears bright-red from the icy winds; being more of a rigid icicle than a dynamic young engineer... What was always able to quickly and thoroughly warm me up within mere moments, was the "Rum Cow."

Ingredients for 1 drink:

1 cup milk
3 1/2 teaspoons brown rum
1 tablespoon honey

Tip: Less traditional, but certainly more convenient (and faster!) is preparing this drink in your microwave oven.

Preparation (a few minutes):

1. In a small pot, heat up the milk - just shy of boiling; slightly foaming is okay.

2. Pour the milk into a pre-heated mug. Add rum and honey and stir until honey is fully dissolved.

Knowing that the "Rum Cow" can be made within moments after getting home, you won't mind the winter's cold at all ... enjoy!
